For example:
Alex can eat 2 candies in 1 minute and Charles can eat 3 candies in 1 minute.
So, how many candies will be eaten by Alex and Charles in 1 minute?
(Answer 5 candies)
So, how long will it take them to eat up 30 candies?
(Answer 6 minutes)
If you can solve the above now, then try part (b)again. How long will it take (at most;estimate the longest time) John and Henry to finish 30 burger together?

In 1 min,they can both eat 5 burgers. (3+2=5)
Therefore,for 30 burgers,they took 6 mins.(30/5=6mins)

If I'm not wrong,John should finish first.Because(everyone guessed this 1,so i might have a try!) if John can eat 3 in 1 minute while Henry can eat 5 in 2 minutes,If you conclude what John can eat in 2 minutes is
John = 6 burgers in two minutes.
Henry = 5 burgers in 2 minutes.
You don't need to be a mathematician to know the answer.
For (B),John and Henry can eat 11 burgers in 2 minutes,and in 1 minute they can eat..about 5 and a half,it should be about..5-6 mins?
